Carlsson CK60: More goodness for the new CL

Mercedes tuner Carlsson has just released info on their newest über-coupe, the Carlsson CK60. Based on the already formidable Mercedes CL 600 with its bi-turbo V12, Carlsson works some of their magic and raises horsepower from 517 to an eponymous 600 and torque goes up to a staggering 740 ft lbs. Even in such a large coupe, this is enough to snap off 4.4 second 0-60 times all day long. Because of tire restrictions, top end is governed at 320 km/h or 199 mph.
And to make the journey towards the double-century mark more enjoyable, the exhaust note has been retuned through the use of new center and rear elements as well as new quad exhaust tips. The interior has been fitted with a combination of Alcantara and leather with rhombus quilting ,plus a Carlsson sports steering trimmed with either leather and Alcantara or leather and wood.
Outside, you'll notice Carlsson's 3/11 Ultra Light three-piece, 11-spoke forged wheels wrapped in 21-inch Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tires. And this being Carlsson you'll see unique aerodynamic components, such as front spoiler and rear skirt lips in the typical Carlsson diffuser look, as well as the striking rear spoiler and stainless steel grille insert. The CK60 also utilizes Carlsson's C-Tronic® electronic lowering kit that drops the CL 30 mm.

i live in South Africa where the legal speed limit is 62 mph and i find it obsurd to spend substantial price tag on this car where as i can fock almost half of that on a reliable and performance driven sexy C63 amg.

I dont get this, if you want to spend all this money on a CL600 to make enough power to equal a CL65, then why not buy a CL65 in the first place and have all the warranty and everything else?

I'm about as big a car nut as you'll find, but I find myself caring less and less with each uber-super-incredible German ultra-luxo tuner car that gets released. I can appreciate the engineering, but this isn't a car to lust after (that would be a Zonda or a 911 GT3-RS). I'm sure someone cares whether Carlsson, AMG, Brabus, or whoever has the biggest baddest super-Mercedes this week, but I frankly don't.

Looks like a sexy car, probably costs a fortune just like every other German tuner out there. Why don't we have awesome tuners like this in the US that can do amazing yet classy looking vehicles (although those rims are a little too bling for my taste). I guess we have Rousch and Saleen for the Mustang, Ligenfelter (sp?) for the Corvette and Hennessey for the Viper, but they put out a new car every 5 years or so. These Germans are all over the place, they must not sleep. Though it does seem like all I see them tune up are Mercedes.
Oh and 199 mph and it's governed? That's incredible! Now that's a reason to get this over a CL65. Sure they'll be close for a while, but when the engine in your CL65 cuts off at 155, you'll wish you had this car.

$870 chip from Brabus or Renntech will remove the governor.
A CL65 with no governor goes 217 mph

It looks nice, but there are so many of these things out there. Just another in the crowd.
